Paul joined i capital advisers as an associate director in April 2017, from PwC Corporate Finance, with a mandate to service existing clients, actively grow the advisory business, and build execution capabilities over time.
Paul graduated from the University of Auckland in New Zealand in 2009 with a BCom degree, majoring in Finance, and an LLB (Honours) degree, and was admitted to the High Court of New Zealand as barrister and solicitor in the same year. He completed the CFA professional qualification and received his CFA charter in 2014. He is currently in the process of completing the JSE Sponsor course.
Whilst at university, Paul worked on a part-time basis in the equities team at a New Zealand fund management firm, Tyndall Investments. After graduation, he joined the Corporate Finance team at PwC in Auckland in 2010, and he transferred to the Johannesburg office at the start of 2013. His corporate finance skill set is broad, covering M&A transaction advisory work, valuations, financial modelling, independent debt advisory, BEE transactions, and limited project finance work, across a wide range of sectors, for both public and privately-held clients. Recent transactions where he advised spanned the packaging sector, agriculture, logistics, technology, healthcare, oil, and gas.
Paul is an entrepreneurial investor in residential property assets, and focusses on the lower LSM segment in Gauteng.
